The Wedding Cake

 I talked to to the owner at my my local bakery and he stated that tiered wedding cakes cost the most and it would be less expensive if your ordered single layered cakes. Here is an example below. You can also try cupcakes.

        

I plan on purchasing a single layer wedding cake for my wedding since it will be courthouse simple and sweet. Whatever you decide get what you want its your special day! For all the lovers that are getting married at the courthouse you can still have the same things that a traditional wedding has.

    

Inexpensive Wedding Shoes

Who doesn't love to go to the mall and buy shoes? Its all about bargains! When finding the right shoe for your wedding dress don't be afraid to look around. If you don't have the money and you have a pair of shoes in your closet use what you have. Its all about what makes you happy. I ordered my wedding shoes off of Ebay for $25.00. The shipping was fast and I was extremely excited about my purchase. When you get a chance check out your local thrift store some of their merchandise is brand new. Below are shoes that are priced under $30.00 on Ebay. 

Wedding Dress

I looked on David's Bridal website and I scheduled an appointment to try on some gowns that I selected on their website. Of course the gowns that were within my budget were not available. So I tried on a couple of gowns and decided that they were out of my budget. I went home and searched several websites and came across a website called lighinthebox. I found the perfect wedding dress that describes my personality and the type of wedding I was having. The dress cost $79.99. I purchased the dress a size larger and had it altered at the shoulders and the sides which cost about $60.00.  Below are examples of dresses that are on the site lightinthebox. DIY Story Book Bouquet

 I couldn't see myself buying a bouquet of real flowers and then tossing them in the trash. So I decided to make a story book bouquet out of a romance novel that I purchased from the Goodwill for $ 0.50. If you want you can use a book that you have at home that you don't want anymore. There are endless possibilities to make your wedding day special. In the center of the flowers I glued in loose pearls that I purchased on clearance at Michael's for $0.87. I cut the petals off of some artificial flowers that I had at home and glued it to the base of the flower. I purchased two packs of stems from Michael's. Each pack contains 12 stems; I wanted the bouquet to be full.  I used a paper towel roll and wrapped it around the stems that I entwined together to make one; I then glued the glitter paper around it that I purchased from the Dollar Tree. The total cost of the project $6.37.

Mr. and Mrs. Wedding Banner

I wanted to make my own banner. I purchased purple card stock paper from Michael's and re-positional letters. I also purchased purple cord from Walmart. My wedding colors are purple, silver and white. Below is the banner that I created.

Unity Sand Vases

So I decided to go to the Dollar Tree and purchase 3 vases and decorative sand and if you're lucky you can purchase the decorative sand from your local Dollar Tree. I also went to Michael's and purchased wired ribbon, purple paper flowers, and glitter letter stickers in cursive. For this activity you will need a hot glue gun and glue sticks. This is what the finished product looks like. Whatever you decide do what makes you happy. I also went online to price unity sand sets and the most expensive one cost $72.00. You can save money and do it yourself!
